What is trisomy 21?

Trisomy 21 or Down Syndrome is the most common chromosomal abnormality. This develops due to a chromosomal abnormality caused by the presence of a third copy of chromosome 21, that is, when the ovum and sperm come together to form the fertilized ovule, there are three chromosomes 21 present instead of two.

What week can this test be done?
